Overview of XT Copy Trading
Copy trading is a portfolio management tool that allows users to effortlessly replicate the trading strategies of expert investors. Through copy trading, both followers and lead traders can achieve mutual benefits. Followers can mimic the trading strategies of the traders they follow, while lead traders, as experienced investors, can share their strategies, attract more followers, and earn a percentage of the followers’ net profits. The specific profit-sharing ratio is determined by the trader's level.
XT offers two lead trading modes (Platform Lead Trading and Private Lead Trading) and two copy trading modes (Smart Copy Trading and Custom Copy Trading) for users to choose from.
Platform Lead Trading
Users who meet the platform’s requirements to become lead traders can apply. Once approved, lead traders must first complete their trading settings. The XT platform supports both futures and spot lead trading, allowing lead traders to set asset thresholds for followers and choose the available copy trading modes.

Private Lead Trading
When using the copy trading system, lead traders can choose to enable the feature “Only users invited by the lead trader can follow, others not invited cannot follow,” achieving a private trading effect. When inviting followers, lead traders can also utilize exclusive “Invite to Follow” features, such as removing followers or customizing profit - sharing ratios.
Note: Once private lead trading is enabled, the lead trader will not appear in the Elite Lead Traders list, All Lead Traders list, or search results. This feature currently only supports futures lead trading and not spot lead trading.

Custom Copy Trading
Custom Copy Trading is a flexible mode that allows users to define the margin for each copied trade, using funds from their futures account. Unlike traditional copy trading, it innovatively supports reverse copy trading—enabling followers to open positions opposite to the lead trader’s direction. Additionally, it allows followers to follow up to 20 lead traders simultaneously, with each copied trade executed as an order, merging positions for identical trading pairs in the same direction.

Fixed Margin Copy Trading: Users set a fixed margin per order (e.g., if you set a fixed margin of 100 USDT, every copied order will have 100 USDT as the margin.).

Multiplier Copy Trading: Trades follow the lead trader’s position size multiplied by a set factor (e.g., 3x BTC/USDT: lead trader opens 0.1 BTC, follower opens 0.3 BTC(0.1*3)).

Proportional Copy Trading: The follower’s margin matches the lead trader’s margin - to - equity ratio (e.g., lead trader uses 10% of available margin, follower with 100 USDT uses 10 USDT).
Note: Leverage depends on the trading pair’s historical leverage; if no history exists, it defaults to 10x for mainstream pairs and 20x for smaller pairs.

Smart Copy Trading
Smart Copy Trading is an automated mode, currently exclusive to futures lead traders. It synchronizes the follower’s capital ratio, leverage, and margin mode with the lead trader’s. When a lead trader executes a contract trade, the system adjusts the follower’s position based on the lead trader’s margin - to - equity ratio at the time of opening the position..
Example: A lead trader with 10,000 USDT opens a 500 USDT BTCUSDT perpetual contract at 5x leverage (5% of equity). A follower with 1,000 USDT allocates 50 USDT (5%) at the same leverage.
Followers only need to set a total copy trading amount, and the system handles the rest—no extra settings required. This mode suits beginners who want returns without deep market knowledge, while giving lead traders flexibility in managing risk and profit. Unlike custom copy trading, it prioritizes consistent position ratios for stable returns and limits followers to one lead trader.
